There is a piece of my HEART that lives in the OCEAN
when I am at the BEACH  I am in my HOMETOWN, Constanta.

Love for the sea, praised by poets as well as by ordinary people, as an inexhaustible source of inspiration, a corner of paradise for body, mind and soul.

Have you ever listened to the music of the sea coming out of a seashell? It is said that if you put a seashell close to your ear then you can hear the waves of the sea. When I’m listening to the sound of waves I know I’m finally HOME.

Those lucky enough to live nearby the sea all year round cannot conceive a single idea that doesn't refer to the vastness of the sea, its depth or the mystery surrounding it. Poets, lovers, storytellers, creators of art and beauty have lauded it in various ways making people that live tens or hundreds of miles away eager to see it for themselves. Tourists love bathing in the sun, while admiring the sand being engulfed by the sea.

And in the cold season, well, that’s when the casino and the surrounding cliff are captive under a thick layer of snow imposing as an impregnable ice kingdom alongside its magnificence. That is when he, the tourist, will admire the sea even when he should be afraid of her, discovering her naked, during the storm. Still, seeing the angry waves breaking out loud on the shore, he starts to appreciate this dark painting of nature, unleashed in all of its splendor.

I think that we all have beautiful places within our hearts. I have a wonderful place that made me happy many years ago. This place is meaningful to me because it is a part of the county I loved, a part of the county where I grew up and a part of my childhood. Constanta for me is the place where the dreams started…

I grew up loving even the worst of waves here, in Constanta. I have only you to thank for teaching me how to be emotionally strong and to work hard and how not to wait on others in order to do what needs to be done. Once you have mastered this, you have mastered life, as you possess the ability to deal with whatever is thrown your way. I realized that no matter where life takes me, I must reach my full potential.

I could drive around this town with my eyes closed. To laugh at myself and the things that go wrong in my life. Wherever you are and wherever life leads you, remember that there is beauty to enjoy, breathe in, and be a part of. I have been taught to truly look and see and find inspiration with which to recklessly and passionately create. The sea, the sand and this beautiful city have taught me to enjoy the simple moment in life and to trust that I have a great purpose in life. I have experienced miracles beyond my understanding when, in hard situations, I did what I felt was right instead of what everyone else suggested I do. My faith and courage to persevere are stronger than ever and still growing. You’ve helped me be strong even through hard times. Thank you for teaching me the value of being myself even through difficult times when you feel unappreciated, undervalued and uncomfortable.

I am so proud to call Constanta my hometown. You have given me my forever friends and memories that I will never forget. You saw my worst and best moments. Wherever the future leads me, a piece of me will always be with you. You made me who I am today.

There is no place on Earth quite like you.

Finding itself at the crossroads of several commercial routes, Constanta lies on the western coast of the Black Sea, 185 miles from the Bosphorus Strait. An ancient metropolis and Romania’s largest sea port, Constanta traces its history some 2,500 years ago. Originally called Tomis, legend has it that Jason landed here with the Argonauts after finding the Golden Fleece. It is a place with a long and interesting past, attested by its many Roman vestiges, historic buildings, facades and mosques that color the Old City Centre.

One of the hardest things about returning home is seeing how much you have changed. I made a lot of memories in this city.  I always come home and think we can pick up where we left off, but the world keeps spinning even when I'm not here. Every time I come home, I am different. Today, I am thinking, feeling and reflecting on my life just to realize that I was growing up too fast.

Constanta is the most important and beautiful place to me, since I have a lot of memories from there. If I would have the chance to be born again, I would chose this place, again. My city is one of those places where you want to stay forever. I will never forget my ever-so beautiful childhood memories carefully guarded by the windy chill of Constanta.

Thank you for always being here when I come back

I am ready for a new adventure
