CT BUS Constanța Transport

Getting around Constanța as an Erasmus student is simple, affordable, and well-connected. Whether you're heading to university, relaxing in Mamaia, or exploring the Old Town, public transportation makes it easy to move around the city.

Public transport in Constanța is mainly operated by CT BUS, which runs over 20 routes across the city, covering key areas from the north (Mamaia) to the south and the port. Buses usually operate from around 05:15 to 23:00, with regular services throughout the day.

Tickets can be purchased from kiosks, vending machines, or directly using contactless payment on buses. Students can also use mobile apps like 24Pay or rechargeable travel cards for convenience.

To make your journey easier, apps like the CT BUS app and Google Maps provide real-time tracking and route planning.

The network connects all major points of interest, including universities, shopping centres, and transport hubs. Many buses are modern, offer free Wi-Fi, and are accessible to passengers with reduced mobility.

Tips for students:

  • Avoid rush hours when buses can be crowded
  • Always validate your ticket
  • Plan your route in advance
  • Keep a payment method ready

Although Constanța does not have a metro or tram system, the bus network is efficient and affordable. It remains the best way for Erasmus students to explore the city and experience everyday life.
